| This tour unfolds in Renaissance and Baroque Rome, touching some of the most important monuments, churches, streets, and squares of the Campo Marzio and Sallustiano districts. You will be with the People’s Square, with its Gate which has always been the main access to Rome from the North, with its Obelisk and above all its churches. Saint Mary of the People,
founded in the 11th century and under the care of the Augustinians, houses works of art by Caravaggio, Raffaello, Carracci, Sansovino, and Pinturicchio. Then you will visit the two twin churches of Saint Mary of Miracles and Saint Mary in Montesante that define, in the form of a fork, the road structure of this area of Campo Marzio. You will continue on to Spain Square,
with its stairway, the fountain of Barcaccia, and the pillar of the Immaculate Conception raised by Pope Pius IX. You will then head up the stairway to the Church of the Most Holy Trinity
of the Mountains connected to the French Community of Roma, which houses celebrated works such as the Deposition by Daniele da Volterra. You will then follow Sistina Road, the first
road created within the road system requested by Sixtus V to adequately connect the major basilicas of Rome. You will next arrive at the Church of Saint Mary of the Conception, a church
of the Capuchins founded at the beginning of the 17th century: there can be found precious works by Domenichino and Lanfranco. Under the church can be found a unique testimony to
Christian piety for the defunct: a crypt that gathers the remains of nearly 4000 Capuchin monks. The tour concludes on Veneto Road, one of the symbols of the Roman “Sweet Life” that
characterized the city in the 1960s of the past century, thanks to its luxury hotels and several historic cafes.
