This itinerary will bring you into the heart of Rome, Campo Marzio. Here, all the souls that throughout the centuries rendered this city a unique place, live interlaced still today: sacred and profane, care-free life and spiritual life, noble and common, ancient and modern. The tour will be an adventure throughout time that will bring you to the ancient Rome by passing through the Middle Ages and the Renaissance, all the way to the great Baroque age. In our itinerary you will visit Piazza Argentina with the ruins of its ancient Roman temples, then you will go on to the Basilica of Santa Maria sopra Minerva, one of the most worshipped and rich churches in Rome. From there you will reach the Pantheon, a masterpiece of Roman architecture, today a church dedicated to the martyrs. You will then proceed towards the churches of St. Agostino and St. Luigi dei Francesi, where you will admire Caravaggio’s famous works. Passing by the Palazzo della Sapienza and the church of St. Ivo, work of Borromini, you will arrive to Piazza Navona, the heart of Baroque Rome with its fountains, churches, noble palaces where Bernini left proof of his genius. Walking down the ancient streets that pilgrims used to walk on, at the end of our tour we will reach the Chiesa Nuova, the centre of the work carried out by St. Filippo Neri, Apostle of Rome.
